Community Comfort Resources at the Library

Community Care Closet 

The Shelby County Public Library offers several items for personal hygiene, cleanliness, warmth, infants, etc. for our community free of charge, no questions asked.

  • Items are donated and are not always guaranteed to be available.
  • Items are available at the Adult circulation desk or in the bathrooms located in Adult Services or outside of Youth Services.
  • Individual items or to-go bags are available.

Donations are always welcome. Help us help our community.

Items that may be available (and items we are looking for donations of) include, but are not limited to:

NaloxBoxes 

The Shelby County Public Library provides 24/7 access to NaloxBoxes outside of the following locations:

  • Computer Lab (33 W. Broadway St., Plaza Entrance, Shelbyville)
  • Three Crows (26 W. Broadway St., Shelbyville)
  • Morristown Branch (127 E. Main St., Morristown)

NaloxBoxes contain Naloxone (Narcan) and Fentanyl Test Strips (FTS) for pickup and use without any personal interactions needed.

NaloxBoxes are provided by Overdose Lifeline to help provide harm prevention resources to help you or your loved ones avoid the negative effects of substance abuse.

Although we are not licensed mental health professionals or social workers we will do our best to provide you contact information to these services and help you get the assistance that you need.
